First Sergeant Nadav Kovats

In November 1982, Nadav enlisted in the IDF. Nadav aspired to serve in an elite unit, and was assigned to the Golani Brigade, in combat engineering. After passing the training, he went through a sabotage course and was promoted to operational employment in Lebanon, in Jebel Baruch. He went later to the officer and instructor course. On March 17th 1985 he felt in Lebanon after his platoon and him got ambushed by terrorists while returning to base. One year after he fell, his friends in the kibbutz published a booklet in his memory. His mother wrote and published a book of poems in his memory called "Shirim Landav".
