בשבת האחרונה (5.8.23) רכבנו באזור צפון הארץ והגענו אל קיבוץ יפתח.

בכניסה לקיבוץ במצפה לרמת הגולן ממוקמת האנדרטה לזכרו של נדב קובץ ז״ל.

נדב לחם בקרב בלבנון ב-17.3.1985 יחד עם נירו שלנו , נשיא מועדון רוכבי שמשון.

הקרב היה קשה , לחמו בו מיטב לוחמינו אך חלקם לא חזרו ממנו. באותו קרב נהרג גם רפי כשר מתל אביב. רפי היה הקשר על הרשת הפלוגתית ונירו היה הקשר על הרשת הגדודית של בית הספר למפקדי כיתות . נדב נהרג בקרב וזכרו נשאר חקוק בליבם של החברים שעם השנים ליוו את משפחתו של נדב ז״ל והפכו לחלק מהזיכרון ממנו.

בכל שנה אנו משתתפים בטקס האזכרה בבית העלמין בקיבוץ ופוגשים את בני המשפחה והחברים. לטקס האזכרה מגיעים גם חיילים חדשים מסיירת גולני שמגיעים לכבד ולשמוע מנירו על סיפור הקרב.

בשבת האחרונה פגשנו את יואב , אחיו של נדב ז״ל. את המפגש התחלנו עם קפה במצודת כ״ח , עוד אתר מורשת חשוב בישראל. עלינו יחד אל האנדרטה לזכרו ושמענו ממנו מעט מהסיפורים על נדב ועל המשפחה.

נירו שיתף אותנו בסיפורים אישיים מהקרב וכולנו התרגשנו בכבוד ובהערצה ללוחמינו האמיצים.

לאחר הקרב הקשה נחקק בפיו של נירו המשפט שכל כולו הוא מהות מועדון האופנועים רוכבי שמשון והחברים בו -

״ רק מי שאוהב נועז ״ !

את הדרך חזרה למרכז הארץ ניצלנו לרכיבה רגועה , צמודים אחד לשני במבנה מתואם , עם הרבה מחשבות על ארץ ישראל היפה וטובי בנינו שבזכותם כולנו יכולים להמשיך בחיינו עם אהובינו.

רוכבי שמשון ימשיכו ללוות את המשפחה ואת זכרונו של נדב ז״ל בכל שנה.

We traveled to the northern part of the country last Saturday (August 5th, 2023) and arrived at Kibbutz Yiftah. A memorial to the late Nadav Kovats may be seen near the entrance to the kibbutz in Mitzpe to the Golan Heights.

On March 17, 1985, Nadav fought with Niro, the president of the Samson Riders MC, in a battle in Lebanon. The battle was fierce, and our best soldiers fought in it; nonetheless, some of them did not survive. Rafi Kosher, a Tel Aviv resident, was killed as well in the same battle. Rafi was the company's radio communication specialist, listening and reporting on the company radio network, while Niro was the Battalion's radio specialist, listening and reporting on the school for class commanders' radio network. Nadav was killed in the war, and his legacy lives on in the hearts of the friends who accompanied the late Nadav's family and evolved to be part of his memory through the years.

Every year, we attend the memorial ceremony in the kibbutz cemetery and see relatives and friends. New troops from the Golani patrol attend the commemorative event to pay their respects and learn about the combat from Niro. We met Yoav, the late Nadav's brother, on Saturday. We began the discussion with coffee at "Metzudat Koah," another major Israeli historical site. We walked up to the monument in his honor and he told us a few anecdotes about Nadav and the family. Niro shared some personal war memories with us, and we were all overwhelmed with respect and reverence for our brave heroes.

Following the difficult struggle, Niro shouted the phrase that epitomizes the Samson Riders motorcycle club and its members: "Only those who love dare"!

We had a leisurely trip back home to the center of the country, riding next to each other in a coordinated structure, thinking about the lovely land of Israel and our troops who gave their lives so that we might all continue our lives with our loved ones.

The Samson riders will continue to accompany Nadav’s family and the memory of the late Nadav every year.
